Port Blair, June 26: Coast Guard Component of the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) conducted an Inaugural Ab-Initio Maritime Training Programme for newly recruited Police Marine Force (PMF) personnel of Andaman and Nicobar.  The seven-week extensive training which was carried out from 01 May to 19 Jun 2024, aimed to enhance operational capabilities and maritime proficiency of the police recruits, concluded with an impressive valedictory function.

The training programme included theoretical classes and hands-on training aboard various coast guard vessels, with Island familiarization. The subject covered during the curriculum were Navigation, Communication, Seamanship, Boarding Operations, Damage Control, Fire Fighting, and Sea Survival.
