Port Blair, June 26: In response to increasing traffic congestion and heavy traffic movement in the Junglighat area, the A&N Traffic Police has proposed the implementation of a one-way system on several key link roads at Junglighat. In this regard, a meeting with the residents (along these roads) was held on June 21, 2024 where they appreciated the initiative and extend their support.

The proposed one-way system will be on trial basis from 01.07.2024 on the following link roads:

1) Mithali Book Store to RBV Junction.

2) Opposite Chennai Store to Maruti Agency House Junction.

Key Details of the One-Way System:

1) All vehicles will be allowed to travel from:

-RBV Junction to Mitali Book Store.

-Maruti Agency House Junction to Opposite Chennai Store.

2) Two-wheelers and emergency vehicles such as fire tenders, ambulances and Police vehicles will be allowed from both sides.

3) Parking will be allowed on the left side of the road on the aforementioned link roads and from Shiv Temple (Deen Street to Old CCS, Junglighat)

The above trail will commence from 01.07.2024. Hence, the A&N Traffic Police advised to general public to cooperate during the trial implementation of the one-way system.
