Port Blair, June 28: The National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) biennially presents Regional Awards for Cooperative Excellence and Merit to Primary Cooperative Societies, acknowledging the pivotal role that cooperatives play in the country's development. The Seamen Cooperative Society Ltd., Port Blair and the Jagrook Security Service Cooperative Society Ltd. Port Blair have been honored with the prestigious awards of Excellence-2023.

The NCDC organized the award function on June 24, 2024 in the Conference Hall of the RCS Office, Port Blair. Ms. Nandini Maharaj, Special Secretary (Cooperation)-cum-RCS, graced the function as the chief guest and presented the Regional Awards for Cooperative Excellence to the honored Societies, along with a cash prize of Rs 25,000.

Distinguished guests, including Shri Vikram Singh, DRCS (HQ), Ms. Archana Singh, General Manager, NABARD, Shri Nilanjan Sinha, Regional Director, NCDC Kolkata, and Shri Arghyadeep Jana, Assistant Director, NCDC, representatives of Cooperative Societies and officers and staff of Cooperative Department also attended the function.
