Port Blair, July 3: In a significant move aimed at bolstering the welfare of islanders, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has announced crucial changes to the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). These modifications include the addition of poultry farming, dairy farming, and goat rearing activities to the scheme.

This initiative is designed to provide Islanders with new avenues for self-employment, enhancing their economic stability and promoting sustainable livelihoods. To facilitate this, specialized training programs have been developed by the A&N Islands Khadi & Village Industries Board in association with the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services to ensure participants gain the necessary skills and knowledge in the fields of poultry farming, dairy farming, and goat rearing to excel in these new ventures.
