Secures No.1 Position Fourth Time Since July, 2023 Among UTs in CCTNS Pragati Dashboard

Port Blair, July 3: In a remarkable feat, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands has once again achieved a significant milestone by securing the top position (96.67%) amongst the Union Territories in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) PRAGATI Dashboard in the month of May, 2024 for the fourth time since July, 2023. This system is administered by the National Crime Records Bureau in New Delhi. The CCTNS is a flagship project of the Ministry of Home Affairs, regularly monitored by the Honorable Prime Minister of India and the Ministry of Home Affairs through the PRAGATI Dashboard on a monthly basis.

The CCTNS PRAGATI Dashboard plays a pivotal role in tracking and managing crime data on a national scale, offering insights into the performance, commitment, progressive growth, and efficiency of States and Union Territories in implementing and managing crime prevention and detection measures. The consistent and dedicated efforts of the Andaman and Nicobar Police have culminated in this outstanding achievement.

In addition to the above, new and upgraded version of CCTNS has been rolled out with the Three New Criminal Laws i.e. Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) 2023 after the continuous efforts of dedicated CCTNS team since, February, 2024. These laws have been implemented in all the police stations, revolutionizing and digitizing policing across the Union Territory. Training has been provided to police personnel of all Police Stations in accordance with changes in the New Criminal Laws under CCTNS, ensuring seamless and efficient service to the general public across this Union Territory.

Through the unwavering dedication of the CCTNS team, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have reached this significant milestone, securing the top position on the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) PRAGATI Dashboard amongst the Union Territories.
