Campbell Bay, July 5: Headquarters, Andaman and Nicobar Command conducted Phase 2 of the Ex-Servicemen Outreach Programme for veterans residing in Great Nicobar Island from 29 June to 4th July, 2024. The main event was inaugurated by Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, AVSM, VM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN) and Smt Latha Saju on 3rd July, 2024 at Community Hall, Campbell Bay.

Commodore K Sri Vatsa, Station Commander ECHS, Commandant JS Randhaawaa TM, District Commander, Coast Guard Distt-10, Commanding Officers of INS Baaz, and 172 Inf Bn (TA) Madras, medical teams from Integrated Medical Station and PHC, Col KV Cherian, VSM Bar, President ESM League, Shri Abhishek Gulia, Assistant Commissioner, Shri Firoz Alam, DySP, were present on the occasion.

A total of 120 ex-servicemen and their dependents from Campbell Bay and nearby areas such as Shastri Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Joginder Nagar, Govind Nagar, and Rajiv Nagar attended the main event. A medical screening camp was also organised by the Integrated Medical Station.

This phase of outreach programme highlights ANC’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of veterans and their dependents in far flung remote locations.

Phase 1 of this programme was conducted for ex-servicemen in the districts of North and Middle Andaman from 27th April to 1st May,2024, with the main event inaugurated by Commodore T. Sugreev, Commanding Officer INS Jarawa, on 28th April at Diglipur.

In the upcoming phases (Phase 3 and 4), the integrated teams of HQ ANC will reach out to ex-servicemen in Little Andaman, Car-Nicobar, Kamorta and Nancowry.
