Port Blair, July 5: The Andaman & Nicobar Police is proud to announce the successful completion of a 2-weeks comprehensive Coastal Security training program held at the Police Training School, Prothrapur for 307 newly recruited police personnel. Such a collaborative training program is first of its kind for the Andaman & Nicobar Police conducted in association with the esteemed National Academy of Coastal Policing (NACP), Okha, Gujarat which is the premier institute tasked with a pivotal role in strengthening the security infrastructure of India's vast coastline.

The training, led by Shri Ram Kishan, Assistant Commandant of NACP, included theoretical and hands-on practical sessions focusing on various critical aspects of maritime security. The curriculum covered vast topics which also includes international maritime laws, engine systems, boat operations, basic defect rectification, borders and ports of India, the Maritime Zones of India Act 1976, historical background of coastal crimes in India, SAR convention, factors affecting coastal security etc. The comprehensive training equipped the trainees with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively in safeguarding the Islands' coastal regions.

During the closing ceremony graced by Shri. Devesh Chandra Srivastava, IPS, Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Senior Officers of A&N Police & Indian Coast Guard, the entire NACP faculties were presented with appreciation certificates & mementos as a token of gratitude and additionally top 5 performer of the training program among the recruits were awarded Commendation Certificates.

Further, the DGP, A&N Police engaged with NACP Officials, discussing the importance of upgrading the PMF vessels with advanced equipments and exploring the potential collaborative efforts for future training and capacity building.
