Port Blair, Feb 28: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded to reconstruct the footbridge connecting Swadesh Nagar and Shantipur to motorable bridge (fit for movement of four wheelers).

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that nearly nine years back APWD had constructed a footbridge over the Shantipur Nallah, connecting Swadesh Nagar and Shantipur. This bridge is presently usable for only pedestrians and motorbikes.

Port Blair, Feb. 28: It has come to the notice of the Electoral Registration Officer, A&N Parliamentary Constituency that a large number of applications have been submitted in Form ‘7’ for deletion of voter’s name from the Electoral Roll. Upon field verification of the applications, it was observed that several applications were made through false and bogus numbers. The applications could not be ascertained as bonafide. A serious view in the matter has been taken and a complaint has been filed to the SHO concerned to investigate the matter.

New Delhi, Feb 28: Shri Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member of the BJP and Former State President of BJP, met with Shri T.K. Baidya, Director of NHIDCL, today at his office in New Delhi. He expressed gratitude for initiating repair work on several stretches of NH-4 and for expediting the process of finalizing new road tenders from Baratang to Gate No. 3, as well as from Gate No. 15 to Rangat. Additionally, the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for engaging a contractor for the Middle Straight bridge is in the advanced stage.

Jaglan, IAS is on a two days visit to Nancowry Group of Islands from Feb. 28 to review the election preparedness in view of upcoming General Elections to Lok Sabha - 2024. He reached Kamorta today and convened a meeting with Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, Nancowry, Shri Anuj Kumar Bharti along with Sector Officers at the Office of the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, Nancowry.

Port Blair, Feb 28: With the benign grace of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj and Nirankari Rajpita Ramit Ji, the auspicious commencement of the 'Amrit Project' under the 'Clean Water, Clean Mind' project's second phase took place from Yamuna Chhat Ghat, Delhi. Inspired by the teachings of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, this project was organized with the support of over 11 lakh volunteers from more than 1533 locations across 27 states and union territories of India. This campaign's primary goal is to educate the public about the ways in which water bodies can be preserved so that future generations can enjoy a healthy future.
