Port Blair, Sept. 21: The Rotary Club of Port Blair felicitated Er. Fateyh Bahadur Singh, DGM Navigation System Area ISTRAC, ISRO Bangalore, who was a part of the Chandrayaan 3 mission.

Hailing from A&N Islands, Er. Fateyh Bahadur Singh graduated from NITK Surathkal and did his masters from BITS Pilani. His initial schooling upto secondary stage was at Government School, Vijay Nagar, Campbell Bay. Later did his senior secondary from Government Boys' School, Port Blair. Presently he is working as Dy. General Manager at ISTRAC, ISRO Bangalore which is responsible for providing telemetry tracking and Telecommand support for ISRO's launch vehicles satellites, interplanetary missions including the successful Chandrayaan 3 mission which landed on southern side of moon on 23rd August making India the only country to do so.

Port Blair, Sept. 21: The ANTCC President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has highlighted a great concern before the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration regarding the pending salaries of teachers employed under the elementary education scheme "Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA)" in A&N Islands.

In the letter, Halder expressed his displeasure over the Administration for not releasing the salaries of teachers for the past 3 months. He informed that such delay in payment has placed significant financial stress and hardships on these teachers and their families, affecting their livelihoods and overall well-being.

Kadamtala, Sept. 21: On 15/09/2023, Shri. Jairul Sardar S/o Shri Mosharaf Sardar (26) Yrs, Pvt. worker, R/o Junglighat, Port Blair came to PS Kadamtala and lodged a missing report of his wallet which contains Cash, ATM and Identity cards. Acting swiftly, staff of PS Kadamtala made extensive search in all the possible places of Kadamtala area.  After tireless efforts, the missing wallet was found from the roadside near JPP Parlobjig No. 3 having cash and identity cards of Shri. Jairul Sardar. Later, SI P.M Krishna Kumar, SHO PS Kadamtala handed over the missing wallet along with Cash Rs 2400/-, ATM Cards, and Identity cards to the owner. Shri. Jairul Sardar, owner of the missing wallet appreciated the prompt action, dedication and efforts made by PS Kadamtala in finding of his missing wallet. 

Port Blair, Sept. 21: As a part of Ayushman Bhavah Campaign, Smti. Veditha Reddy, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, today graced the HWC Health Mela at Khetan Kalyan Mandapam, under UHC Junglighat along with Shri. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Add. District Magistrate (SA), Shri. Aziz Ur Rehman, Councillor, Ward No. 6, Dr, P.Lal, Nodal Officer, Ayushman Bharat, Dr. Vivin.V, HoD, Community Medicine, ANIIMS & Shri. B. Nagendra, Dist. Programme Manager, DHS (SA), where different Health units, Poshan unit & Police traffic awareness unit have been set up for community level awareness & other health services was also provided.

Kolkata, Sept. 21: The 36th National Under-7 Open & Girls Chess Championships–2023 began today morning in Kolkata, West Bengal.

More than 350 players from across India are participating in this prestigious Championship in which four young chess players (one girl & three boys) from Andaman & Nicobar Islands viz. D Charvi of VKV Lambaline, Port Blair, P Joshit of St. Mary’s School, Jayden Immanual Gomez of Carmel school and R Medanth of Saraswati Shishu Mandir are participating with great enthusiasm.
