Port Blair, Sept. 11: On 11/09/2020, Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS Central Crime Station received a credible information that few youths of New Wandoor are going to sell venison clandestinely. Immediately a team comprising SI Madhab Halder, Constable Chandran, K. Rajendran and lady Home Guard Meena Rani Sardar were sent to New Wandoor for carrying out the raid. After half an hour, the raiding team noticed that 03 persons were carrying 02 plastic sacks & on seeing the Police team all the 03 person started running. They were chased on suspicion and were intercepted. They were identified as Anup Kumar Mondal R/o New Wandoor, Ashok Kumar Biswas R/o Kalapathar, Sippighat and Sanjay Sikder R/o New Wandoor. It was also found out that Sanjay Sikder is a habitual and a dangerous criminal and 04 cases for violation of PAT regulation have been registered against him.

Port Blair, Sept. 10: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Director of Health Service, Director, ANIIMS, Additional District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate visited GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair on 08th September, 2020.  During his visit, he interacted with the in-patients of all the medical and surgical wards and ascertained about their wellbeing and problems if any being faced while undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Fire Causes Damage to Residential Buildings Adjacent to the Unit

Port Blair, Sept. 9: A major fire was reported at the Andaman Pencil Wood Work company situated at Prothrapur Junction, in the mid night of 9th September 2020, in which goods worth Crores of Rupees was turned to ashes.

Port Blair, Sept. 10: A big catch as it should be mentioned, the South Andaman Police has been successful in seizing 990 gms of ‘Methamphetamine’ illicit drug from two drug peddlers. The seized narcotics is estimated to be worth Rs. 1.5 Crores.
