Port Blair, Jan 14: Veterans Day Celebration for all veterans residing at Andaman & Nicobar Islands was organised at Dweepika Auditorium, Haddo Defence Area on 14 Jan 24. INS Jarawa conducted the event on behalf of Headquarters, Andaman and Nicobar Command (HQ ANC).

Long Island, Jan 14: Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands & Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency, Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.) on his visit to North & Middle Andaman, inaugurated a double storeyed Inspection Bungalow of APWD at Long Island today by unveiling the plaque in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman, Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, AC, Middle Andaman, Ms Sapna Priya, Superintendent of Police, N&MA, Smti. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, DFO Middle Andaman, Dr Abdul Qayum, IFS, Pradhan Long Island, Shri B. Kamaraju, other officials and general public.

Rangat, Jan 14: The Hon’ble Lt. Governor inaugurated the Forest Station Rangat, Middle Andaman on 13th Jan 2024 by unveiling of plaque followed by ceremonial plantation of Karanj (Milletia pinnata) in the Station premise. The Lt. Governor was briefed about the importance and usage of this initiative of the Department. He shared his experience on how a matter of 400 Kg venison (deer) was caught in South Andaman. He expressed his pleasure that now dealing Wildlife and Forest Offence cases through this Station will be easy and can be better monitored.

Kurukshetra, Jan 14: Shri M. Vinod, President, Andaman Association of Tour Operators and Director, Modern Tours and Travels attended the Mahabharat Circuit Conference and Familiarization Tour at Kurukshetra, Haryana for tourism stakeholders of the country, organised by Ministry of Tourism from 9th to 11th January.

“It was a wonderful experience not only to see the place but it also gave an opportunity to learn a lot from fellow Stakeholders”, said Vinod.
