Port Blair, Dec. 7: The Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, GoI, Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration is organizing a five day Odissi dance Workshop from Dec. 4. About 30 Island artistes are attending the workshop. The valedictory function of the workshop will be held tomorrow (Dec.8) at 5.30 pm at Andaman Club. Dr. Jatinder Sohal, Director (Art & Culture) will be the chief guest of the function.

Port Blair, Dec. 7: The Directorate of Social Welfare organized a visit to the State Library of Port Blair for children from two Child Care Institutions (CCIs) Darussalam Yathem Khana and Pranab Kanya Sangh. The event was not just an outing but a significant educational tour designed to broaden the horizons of the young minds from these CCls. The visit was aimed at fostering a love for reading and a curiosity for knowledge among the children, who were given the opportunity to explore the vast repository of books and resources available at the State Library.

Port Blair, Dec. 7: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, A&N Administration will be organizing a Dog Show on December 27, 2023, from 4 pm to 6 pm at ITF Ground, as part of the upcoming Island Tourism Festival. In this regard, dog owners interested in participating in the event can submit the details of the Dog's containing Owner's Name, Contact Information, Phone Number, Email Address, Dog's Information, Dog's Name, Breed, Age, Gender, Colour, Weight, Vaccination Records, Rabies Vaccination Date and Other Vaccination Dates (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Para influenza and Leptospirosis).

Port Blair, Dec. 7: The Press Note dated 22.11.2023 published in the Daily Telegrams dated 23.11.2023 regarding conduct of Physical Endurance/ Skill Test/Trade Test along with Verification of Document/Testimonials for the following Matric Level Posts pertaining to A & N Police, AAJVS and District Prison w.e.f 8th December, 2023 to 14th December, 2023 has been cancelled, owing to the trade test being conducted by Forest Department at different locations in A & N Islands.

Port Blair, Dec. 7: The selected candidates for the post of Physical Education Teachers who have successfully completed the certificate/document verification in response to vacancy notice dated 10-05-2023 and are yet to collect their Offer of Appointment, have been advised to collect the same at the earliest from the Recruitment Cell of the Directorate of Education and submit the Letter of Acceptance by Dec.15, 2023. Failure to submit the Letter of Acceptance by 1500 hours on Dec.15, 2023 will lead to automatic termination of selection for the post. Thereafter, candidate shall have no claim towards the selection.
