Every year on December 1st World AIDS Day provides a global platform for people to unite against HIV & AIDS, stand in solidarity with those affected, remember those we've lost, and commit to combating HIV stigma. Despite significant progress, the battle against HIV & AIDS continues.

The theme for World AIDS Day 2023 is "Let Communities Lead." Communities living with, at risk of, or affected by HIV are at the forefront of progress in the response to HIV. Ending AIDS is possible with communities taking the lead in a united, informed proactive and empathetic manner.

Port Blair, Nov. 30: The offline and online Term End Examination for December, 2023 of Indira Gandhi National Open University is scheduled from 01st December, 2023 and will conclude on 9th January, 2024.  Approximately 2936 students are appearing exams for various courses, which culminates into 16016 sittings.

Mayabunder, Nov. 30: The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) was held today at Gram Panchayat Basantipur and Pahalgaon in N&M Andaman District. A grassroot movement, VBSY is aimed at achieving 100% saturation of flagship programmes of GoI and to ensure that the benefits on its schemes reach all citizens for sustainable development. Embarking on the transformative journey of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, IEC Van was welcomed and a video was screened on the occasion. The locals enthusiastically watched the recorded message of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India regarding the campaign. During the event at GP Basatipur, the PRIs, general public, school children and Officials took the Viksit Bharat Sankalp pledge administered by Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman. The VBSY at GP Basantipur witnessed live screening of launch of Drone Didi and 10,000th PM-Jan Aushadi Kendra by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the interaction of the Hon’ble Prime Minister with beneficiaries of various schemes.

Car Nicobar, Nov. 30: The IEC (Information, Education and Communication) Van reached Mus Village today as part of ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’. The Van was welcomed at Mus Village by the Village Captains and all local Tribal people in their traditional way. Shri Philip Harold, Captain of Mus village, Car Nicobar was the chief guest of the programme. Smt. Jenifer Lionel, lady representative of Mus village welcomed the gathering.

Port Blair, Nov. 30: The Hon’ble Prime Minster of India, Shri Narendra Modi came live to address the participants of Viksit Bharta Sankalp Yatra and encouraged them to avail the benefits of various schemes of GoI reaching to the respective Gram Panchayats/Villages through the Viksit Bharta Sankalp Yatra campaign. He assured that the Govt of India will try to reach out all the untouched poor families and provide them maximum benefits through various schemes so that the dream of Viksit Bharat may be achieved. He also interacted with the beneficiaries of selected areas and virtually launched two schemes namely ‘Namo Drone Didi Yojana’ and ‘PM Jan Aushadi Kendra’. The programme was witnessed by the general public and officials of all the Blocks.
