Port Blair, Nov. 30: Heavy rain (7-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on Dec. 1. Meanwhile, due to formation of well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining south Andaman Sea and its likely intensification into a Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal, squally weather with wind speed exceeding 45 kmph is likely to prevail over Andaman Sea and neighbourhood. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till Dec.1.

Port Blair, Nov. 29: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to allot a plot, preferably around one acre in Vizag city. This land allocation would facilitate the construction of an Andaman Guest House by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh the Member of Parliament said that a substantial number of the general public from Andhra Pradesh reside in Andaman & Nicobar Islands for the past several decades, who have played a vital role in building the peaceful society of present day Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, Nov. 29: In a proactive move towards enhancing public convenience, Ms. VK Mariyam Bibi, Zilla Parishad Member, Bambooflat along with Smti Rasheeda, Pradhan, Hopetown and Shri Raj Kumar, Samity Member from Bambooflat 2 met with the Secretary, Transport to address and discuss crucial issues affecting the local community.

Among the key concerns raised during the meeting, the delegation emphasized the urgent need for a water purifier (drinking water) installation at the new Bambooflat bus terminus to benefit passengers. Additionally, they sought support for the renewal of bus passes directly from the Bambooflat terminal.

Port Blair, Nov. 29: A Central Team comprising of Central Nodal Officer, Shri Vikas Anand, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, GoI and Technical Officer, Smt. Rachna Bhatti, Scientist- 'D', Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Jal Shakti, GoI are on a three days tour to Andaman & Nicobar Islands to review the progress of Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA)-Catch the Rain-2023 Campaign under National Water Mission. Team has earlier inspected progress of various work under JSA during May, 2023 as part of pre monsoon inspection and reviewed the progress of Amrit Sarovar work in North and Middle Andaman. The current visit is part of 2nd stage post monsoon inspection of progress of various work in North & Middle Andaman District to ensure sustainable water supply in the district.
