Car Nicobar, Nov. 17: The District Administration, Nicobar is celebrating Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas from Nov. 15 to 26, 2023 as part of the 148th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda at Kinyuka Village. Smt. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, DC (N) today flagged off the ‘Maha Utsav March’ featuring Nicobari Tribal Artists, traditional dancers and students from Kinyuka Water Treatment Plant to GPS Kinyuka.  Good number of local tribal villagers took part in the march with traditional attire and enthusiastic slogans.

Port Blair, Nov. 17: SAANS Campaign starting from Nov. 12, 2023 to Feb. 29, 2024 and National Newborn Week from Nov. 15 to 21, 2023 is being observed by all the Health Facilities in A&N Islands. To mark the event, a State Level programme was organized by the Directorate of Health Services in association with UT Health Mission yesterday at New Pahargaon with an aim to create (Social Awareness & Action to Neutralize Pneumonia Successfully) - SAANS campaign to ensure health system strengthening and community awareness towards childhood pneumonia.

Port Blair, Nov. 17: The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India is celebrating 75 days ‘Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav’ with the theme ‘Bhashaye Anek, Bhav Ek’, which is being conducted in all Schools of A&N Islands since 28th September and will continue up to 11th December, 2023 to promote language learning through the use of regional languages and technology.

Port Blair, Nov. 17: A & N Administration had conducted written examination to fill up 2516 vacancies in 212 categories of Group ‘C’ Matric Level Posts in various Departments under A & N Administration. Tier – I Written Examination was conducted with the assistance of Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on 09.07.2023, in which, a total of 40,982 candidates appeared in the written examination conducted at 61 centres across the Islands.

Port Blair, Nov. 17: NTPC Port Blair organized a State Level Painting Competition on ‘Energy Conservation’ on behalf of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The painting competition was conducted under the National Campaign on Energy Conservation, launched by the Ministry of Power, to promote energy conservation in the country. The competition is an exemplary effort to provide a platform to the students to showcase their creativity while making them aware about Energy Conservation.
