Port Blair, June 4: All the migrant labourers residing in this UT and are registered on e-Shram portal of the Govt. of India, who do not possess ration card neither in their native State/UTs nor in the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands have been asked to approach the Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Port Blair with valid documents such as Surrender/Deletion Certificate from parent State/UTs.

CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee expresses its deep shock and anguish over the massive loss of lives in the train accident near Bahanaga railway station in Balasore district, Odisha on 2nd June, 2023. Hundreds of people lost their lives and more than one thousand people are injured in this tragic and gruesome train accident. CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee conveys its deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident.

I am deeply saddened by the news of the loss of many precious lives and the injuries in the train accident in the State of Odisha.
It is with great sorrow that we mourn the loss of approximately 260 precious lives. Their untimely departure is an immense tragedy that has left our hearts heavy with grief.
I stand in solidarity with the affected families during this immensely difficult time, and I offer my sincerest sympathies. May they find solace and strength to bear this unbearable sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate through this profound loss.

Pot Blair, June 3: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Defence Minister of India to conduct the MILAN event of the Indian Navy in Andaman & Nicobar Islands once in six years.
In a letter addressed to the Defence Minister the Member of Parliament mentioned that the MILAN exercise, a biennial multilateral naval exercise was initiated by the Indian Navy in 1995 in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
