Port Blair, May 19: The Congress Campaign Committee Chairman, A&N Islands Mr. TSG Bhasker on Friday wrote a letter to the Hon'ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands for bringing his attention towards the exorbitant Air Fares between the A&N Islands and mainland India.
In the letter, Mr. Bhasker stated that the Air Fares have increased abnormally between Port Blair to Chennai, Port Blair to Kolkata and Port Blair to Delhi sectors which has caused tremendous hardships among the Islanders including students, patients and others going to the mainland for spending holidays.

Port Blair, May 19: The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) launched the National Startup Awards (NSA) in 2020 to reward and recognize outstanding startups and enablers in the startup ecosystem that are building innovative products and demonstrating measurable social impact. So far, three editions have acknowledged startups and enablers who have been instrumental in revolutionizing the development of Indian startup ecosystem. The applications for National Startup Awards 2023 have been made live and the deadline for submission is 31st May, 2023.

Port Blair, May 19: The online nominations/recommendations for Padma Awards namely ‘Padma Vibhushan’, ‘Padma Bhushan’ and ‘Padma Shri’ has started from 1st May, 2023 and the last date for receiving nomination is 15th September, 2023. These awards are announced on the occasion of the Republic Day every year. The award seeks to recognize ‘Work of distinction’ and is given, for distinguished and exceptional achievements/service in all fields/disciplines, such as, Art, Literature & Education, Sports, Medicine, Social work, Science & Engineering, Public Affairs, Civil Service, Trade and Industry etc. All persons without distinction of race, occupation, position or sex are eligible for these Awards. Port Blair, May 19: Chinmaya Mission, Port Blair will be organising a Handicraft Training (on Coconut Shell, Bamboo and Waste Wood) at the Mission Premises.
