Port Blair, Oct. 15: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma laid the foundation stone for Construction of a CC road with drainage and Box culvert at Japan Road end, Dairy Farm, Ward Number 14 on last Saturday.

The work was sanctioned under MPLADS fund with an estimated cost of Rs. 19,05,812. A CC road of 75 mtrs length & 2,50 mtrs in width, CC drain of 75 mtrs and RCC retaining wall of 9.00 mtrs will be constructed under this work, benefitting a large number of people of Dairy Farm area.

Port Blair, Oct. 15: The CPI (M) has demanded to evolve common criteria for the physical endurance test and trade for the posts of mazdoor in all the Divisions under the Forest Department.  In a letter sent to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, A & N Forest Deparrrtment a few days ago, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee stated that different yardstick has been adopted by different Divisions for the physical endurance test and trade test for selection of candidates.

Port Blair, Oct. 15: Keeping its commitment of zero tolerance against illegal activities, the staff of PS Central Crime Station conducted a raid at Haddo area near Govt. Sr. Sec. School Telugu Medium and arrested 07 gamblers.

On 14/10/2023 night, on receipt of credible information regarding Gambling at Haddo area near Govt. Sr. Sec. School, a team of PS CCS reached at the spot and found some people playing cards in an open area near to the School. The team surrounded them from all the directions and successfully nabbed all of the Gamblers who tried to flee from the spot. All the 07 people involved were arrested and Rs. 33,260/- in cash was recovered from their possession with board money of Rs 29,160/-.
