Directorate of Shipping Services and Shipping Corporation of India Remain Mute Spectators

Port Blair, Sept. 28: The Merchant Navy Officers working with Fore Shore passenger vessels of the Directorate of Shipping Services have been facing a tough situation as they are forced to remain without salary for nearly three months now. The reason being that the Andaman & Nicobar Administration not able to take a stand after a decision it took to hand over manning contract to the Shipping Corporation of India.  

Port Blair, Sept. 28: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration to operate atleast two ferry vessels each for Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep on daily basis.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament today mentioned that after the reopening of Tourism, slowly a large number of Tourists are now reaching Andaman but due to less number of vessels for Shaheed Dweep and Swaraj Dweep, they are struggling to visit these two Tourist Hotspots.

Port Blair, Sept. 28: The ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman, Shri. G Bhasker today visited the landslide affected area at Widows Colony, AIR Road, Delanipur that has been battered by torrential rainfall.

He was accompanied by PBMC Ex-Councillor Shri. Sanjay Meshak, District Youth Congress President Shri. K.T Nambi, A&N Ranchi Association Secretary Shri. Sebastian Tirkey, social workers Shri. K. Ibrahim and Shri. Abdul Rehman.

Port Blair, Sept. 28: Dr. Devdas who has served Andaman and Nicobar Administration in several capacities such as Director of Education, Director of Social Welfare, Principal - ANCOL among others has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on 27th September under the leadership of Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party and under overall guidance of Mr. Y Satya Kumar, National Secretary, BJP and Incharge, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, Sept. 28: A total of 4,39,493 doses have been administered to the beneficiaries so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2, 81, 603 (approx.). A total of 1,70,259 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date. A total of 1787 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands.
