The suggestions may include rejuvenation of non-functional ponds, abandoned Japanese wells, identification of water streams & new bore wells and any other water sources which may be utilized for public use. Port Blair, May 2: The Govt. of India, Ministry of Science & Technology is implementing two flagship schemes namely Women Scientist Scheme and DST-Young Fellowship Scheme. The Women scientist scheme is introduced to give a strong foothold into the scientific profession and to encourage women in S & T domain, preferably those having a break in career and not having regular employment, to explore possibility of re-entry into the profession and research field. Any women scientist between the age of 27-57 years who has a break in their career but desire to return to mainstream can avail benefit out of this scheme. The scheme is open throughout the year, therefore there is no last date of application.

Port Blair, May 2: All APL Ration Card holders of Port Blair and Ferrargunj Tehsil have been informed that despite the efforts made by the Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs through media, requesting all Aadhaar unseeded members/bogus members to get their Aadhaar number seeded/bogus members deleted from their ration cards, a considerable number of ration card holders have not yet approached the department for the same or submitting reason for not doing so.

Port Blair, May 1: On the occasion of “May Day” and to express solidarity with the working class people and labours, the INTUC and its affiliated Trade Unions took out a procession on 1st May 2023 at 7.00 AM from Gandhi Bhavan which after passing through Gandhi Statue, Clock Tower, Annapurna, Atul Samiti Smriti culminated at Gandhi Bhavan. 

In addition to the workers of various Govt. Departments, organized and unorganized sectors, the May Day procession was attended by a large number of senior leaders of ANTCC and its frontal organizations, Municipal Councilors and PRI members.
