Port Blair, April 25: The Directorate of RD, PRI & ULBs, A&N Administration will be organizing a ‘Job Mela’ under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY) Scheme in collaboration with Employment Exchange (Model Career Centre) on April 28, 2023 at 10 am at Chouldhari Community Hall, Chouldhari Bazaar under Ferrargunj Block.

Port Blair, April 25: The Department of Social Welfare is committed towards the welfare of vulnerable sections of society and accordingly provides social security pensions @ Rs. 2500/- per month to 25779 numbers of Senior Citizens, Widows, Destitute and Divyangs beneficiaries. Similarly, Rs. 3000/- per month is provided to 1364 Senior Citizens who are 80 years of age and above.

Port Blair, April 25: PBMC supplies drinking water to municipal areas. Due to poor monsoon and excessive heat, there is acute shortage of water supply from PWD to PBMC. Rains are not expected any time soon. Water is a precious natural resource and cannot be wasted. The public have been advised to use water carefully and avoid any type of wastage of water. Overflow of storage tanks should be avoided at all costs. Consumers have been asked to fix leaking pipes and install float valves in water tanks to avoid overflow. Govt. offices, public institutions, commercial establishments and other major consumers of water have been asked to take precautionary measures to preserve water.

Port Blair, April 25: The ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder and ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Shri. TSG Bhasker has condoled the sad demise of Shri. R.V Reddy, a long-serving member of the Congress Party who breathed his last on 25th April at Chennai due to heart attack.
