Port Blair, Dec. 6: As per Indian Meteorological Department’s weather forecast, heavy rain (07-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on Dec. 7. In anticipation of formation of low pressure area, fishermen of Andaman and Nicobar coasts have been advised not to venture into the sea till Dec. 7, 2022.

Port Blair, Dec. 6: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep will sail from Port Blair to Chennai on Dec.8, 2022 at 1000 hrs. Excess baggage will be loaded from 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs on Dec.7, 2022 i.e. one day prior to sailing of the vessel.

Port Blair, Dec. 6: The candidates who have applied for allotment of various Professional/Technical/Non-Technical courses including Malayalee Origin seats reserved at mainland institutions for the academic session 2022-23 have been informed that the counseling for BDS-2 seats, BHMS- 4 seats, BAMS-3 seats, BAMS (Malayalee Origin) -1 seat and B.Sc Agriculture (Malayalee Origin) -1 seat will be held on Dec.12 at 10 am in the auditorium of Tagore Govt. College of Education.

Port Blair, Dec. 6: Due to adverse weather conditions, the scheduled sailing programme of the vessel MV Bharat Seema to Nancowry via all ports on Dec.8, 2022 from Port Blair has been postponed. Now, the vessel will sail for Nancowry via Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Chowra, Teressa & Katchal on Dec. 9 at 0700 HRS from Haddo Wharf and will sail for Port Blair on Dec.12 at 0500 hrs from Nancowry via same route.   

Port Blair, Dec. 5: The Indian Naval Air Squadron 318, christened as ‘Hawks’, was commissioned on 08 Mar 1984 as a frontline Maritime Air Squadron at Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Beginning with the Islander aircraft having limited reconnaissance capability, the squadron graduated to a more potent ‘Dornier’ aircraft in Dec 1999. Over the years, the squadron has transformed into a formidable frontline MR Squadron equipped with state of the art surveillance radar and electronic suite.
