Port Blair, Nov. 27: The Hon'ble Member of Parliament from Kishanganj Constituency, Bihar Dr. Mohammad Jawed who is also holding the positions of Member of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Committee (Lok Sabha) and AICC Secretary visited the Gandhi Bhawan office at Port Blair on 25th November. Dr. Jawed was received by a large number of Congress workers and leaders.

Port Blair, Nov. 27: The Office of the Director General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India has directed Air India and Indigo to make arrangements to accommodate stretcher patients in their flights. In an email to Air India and Indigo, the DGCA mentioned, “It has come to notice that Indigo is unable to carry passengers who require stretcher with medical equipment on board the aircraft at Port Blair”.

The email further read, “To facilitate the medical evacuation of critical patients, especially at Port Blair, who require treatment in major cities, Indigo should make all efforts to ensure that the patient reaches his destination to receive appropriate medical treatment. Accordingly, the airline is advised to position a stretcher along with basic medical kit/ equipment (including an on-board oxygen facility) at Port Blair.

Port Blair, Nov. 27: A training program on ‘Goatery Management’ was organized on Nov. 25, 2023, by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services at New Bimblitan under the UT-ATMA Scheme. The event witnessed the participation of rural women and farmers, along with officials from the Agriculture Department and Animal Husbandry staff. The program focused on imparting knowledge about goat rearing as a promising livelihood option. Around 35 goat farmers attended, and 55 goats received treatment, including medicines like mineral mixtures, vitamins, dewormers, feed additives, and poultry medicines. Farmers were also advised to take benefit of Kisan Credit Card.

Kalighat, Nov. 27: In response to multiple inputs regarding the rampant presence of Lehan and Bhatti in the Talbagan area, SI Silpi Singha, SHO PS Kalighat, took swift action by forming a specialized team. The dedicated team led by SI Abdul Sajeed, comprising PCs Sushil Sarkar, Ranjit Biswas, Suresh Soreng was assigned to conduct a comprehensive search operation in the Talbagan jungles.

The diligent efforts of the team led to the discovery of a substantial quantity of Lehan, totalling 1200 liters. The illicit substance was concealed in Talbagan creek and Talbagan jungle, strategically positioned deep in the jungle from the main road of Talbagan.
