Port Blair, Oct. 31: A day long Outreach Sensitization Programme was organized by Industries Department at Gram Panchayat, Stewartgunj today to disseminate information about flagship schemes of Govt. of India and other UT schemes implemented by Industries Department viz. Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme, Entrepreneurship & Skill Upgradation Programme. The programme was attended by Pradhan, GP, Stewartgunj, Pramukh, Zilla Parishad Member and other PRI members. About 53 participants attended the programme including SHG members, local youth.

Port Blair, Oct. 31: The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs in association with NSS, NCC, SAI, NYK and Education Department organized ‘National Unity Run’ to mark the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which is observed as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. Shri. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Secretary (Sports), A&N Administration graced the occasion as the chief guest and flagged off the Run in the presence of  Shri. Aditya Kumar Jha, Director (Sports) and others.

Port Blair, Oct. 31: On 29/10/2022 GSSS Port Mout organised a Science Arts & Craft Exhibition in the school auditorium. The exhibition was organized under the supervision of Shri. M Sailabdeen, Principal GSSS Port Mout. Students displayed various Science, Arts and Craft exhibits, Models/Projects. Shri R.K Singh, SPO (Samagra Shiksha) and Principal SIE Port Blair was the Chief Guest while Smti. Rizwana, Executive Engineer, Electricity Department, South Andaman was the Guest of Honour.

Port Blair, Oct. 31: A meeting of women of Diglipur, North Andaman was held on 30th October, 2022 morning at Diglipur in which the Diglipur Area Committee of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) was formed.  Addressing the meeting, D. Ayyappan, Vice President, CITU A & N State Committee said that the attack on the women in the country is increasing in the recent years. Despite enacting various laws, the harassment and victimization of women are continuing in all fields. He called upon the women to come forward to fight against the inequalities and injustice meted out to women.
