Port Blair, Aug. 31: The Department of Agriculture will be celebrating World Coconut Day on 2nd September, 2022 at Community hall, Ograbraj, Mithakhari Gram Panchayat in association with Rural Development Department, Industries Department, NABARD, Hand In Hand India, NGO and support from Pradhan, Mithakhari Gram Panchayat, and Coconut entrepreneurs. Shri G. Sudhakar, IAS, Secretary (Agri), A & N Administration will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Port Blair, Aug. 31: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,96,823 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,950 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 28, 275 beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years have been administered both doses of vaccine. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 2,45,738.

Port Blair, Aug. 31: The cargo vessel MV Chuglam will sail for Campbell Bay via Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Chowra, Teressa, Katchal & Nancowry on Sept. 4 at 1700 hrs from Haddo/Chatham Wharf and will sail for Port Blair immediately after discharging/loading of Cargo at respective ports. Booking of cargo for the above sailing will commence from 01.09.2022 onwards between 0900 Hrs & 1300 Hrs at Commercial Wing.

Port Blair, Aug. 31: No COVID positive case has been detected today in A&N Islands. Today, 10 flights with 1399 passengers arrived, out of which, 1263 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 90 passengers and the reports are awaited.
