Port Blair, Sept. 23: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma during the ongoing monsoon session of parliament, on 20th Sept. 2020 took up the most vital and perennial issue of scarcity of drinking water being faced by the people of Andaman and Nicobar  Islands.

Port Blair, Sept. 23: To take first hand stock of the ground situation and arrangements required to be made for preparing COVID Care Centres and to ensure preparedness in the fight against COVID-19 in the inter islands, the Deputy Commissioner (SA), Shri Suneel Anchipaka along with the SDM (SA) and the AC (U/T) visited Little Andaman Island today.

Port Blair, Sept. 23: Due to travel restrictions on account of COVID, over 240 tribals from Car Nicobar have had to remain in Port Blair. They had come for various reasons like medical treatment, administrative work etc. While efforts are on-going by the Administration, to send them back to Nicobar, M/S Ellen Hinego Ltd., apex co-operative body and Jadwet Trading Co. to provide some relief today distributed dry ration kits/packets containing all essentials, to these 240 individuals, in a simple function at the Nicobari home.
