Port Blair, May 10: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to direct ANIIDCO to provide 24-hour service in the ANIIDCO petrol pump, Junglighat.

In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament mentioned that since 12.11.2013 the ANIIDCO IOC Retail outlet of Junglighat used to remain open for the public for 24-hours and seven days a week with the approval of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).

Port Blair, May 10: An impressive ceremonial parade was held to welcome Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri Neeraj Thakur, IPS at Police Line, Port Blair on 10/05/2022 at 0730 hrs. Sh. Thakur took charge of DGP, A&N Police on 09th May, 2022. Six platoons including Executive Police (Male), Executive Police (Female), Fire Service, IRBn, Police Brass Band and Pipe Band participated in the parade, which was commanded by Shri. Naveen Kumar, AC, IRBn.  All senior officers, rank and file were present in the Welcome Parade.

Port Blair, May 10: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,77,722 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,457 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 11,955 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 21507. 

Port Blair, May 10: The CPI (M) has demanded to provide sufficient and regular piped water supply to the residents of Middle Andaman areas.  In a letter sent to the Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee informed that piped water is being supplied to the residents of many Gram Panchayats in Middle Andaman only once in three days, that too only for 25 minutes. The worst affected areas are the four Gram Panchayats of Padmanabhapuram, Basantipur, Swadesh Nagar and Harinagar.  He stated in the letter that people in the above areas are running from one place to other to fetch water during this summer season as the authorities have failed to provide sufficient water to these areas.  

Port Blair, May, 10: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 295 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 10 flights with 1553 passengers arrived, out of which, 1319 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 253 passengers and the reports are awaited.
