Port Blair, Nov. 26: The Department of Social Welfare in association with Gram Panchayat, Chouldari organized a camp at Community Hall, Chouldari today to address the issues relating to Social Security Pensions viz. Old Age, Widow, Destitute and Disability Allowance. Altogether 43 pensioners attended the camp, out of which, the issues of 38 pensioners were resolved on the spot.

Port Blair, Nov. 26: The Revenue Department of South Andaman District carried out eviction drive against encroachments committed over Government land at Haddo village under Port Blair Tehsil upon land bearing Survey No. 172 area 1441 Sqmtrs, which was set apart in favour of the District Administration, South Andaman. During the drive, temporary structures in the shape of ghumties, food stall were removed and the land was restored to its original status.

Port Blair, Nov. 26: The District Legal Services Authority, Andaman & Nicobar Islands organized a programme to celebrate ‘Constitution Day’ in the premises of District & Sessions Court at Port Blair today, to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26th November, 1949, on the basis of which the Constitution was enacted from 26th January, 1950.

Vehicle Ferry Services Will Open up New Doors for Tourism in the Island: Sharma

Port Blair, Nov. 25: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to operate vehicle ferry vessel on daily basis between Yeretta Jetty and Long Island so that people willing to visit Long Island can easily take their four or two wheelers to Long Island and explore the Island and return in the same vehicle ferry.
