Port Blair, Aug 7: Continuing its efforts PBMC has deployed dedicated teams at various parts of the city to contain the spread of Pandemic. The PBMC adopts all measures to check the cleanliness like sanitizing the Containment areas, Quarantine Homes/Institutions and Vulnerable areas. These are apart from the routines in which team reaches out to every nook and corner of the city, clean up the garbage, sanitize the area. To brake the chain to spread of COVID-19, a strict enforcement is also being done by dedicated PBMC field teams by imposing penalty for not Wearing Mask, No Social Distancing and Littering in public places.

Planned Capacity of COVID Care Centre More Than Sufficient; Adequate Stock of Medical Equipment and Medicines Arranged: Administration

Port Blair, Aug 7: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration has finally come out with a Press Release stating that it has made elaborate arrangements to tackle COVID-19 pandemic in the islands. The Release states:

The spread of the COVlD-19 pandemic is a matter of serious concern requiring concerted efforts by all. The Administration of A&N Islands reiterates the importance of people’s responsibility in war against COVID-19.

Port Blair, Aug 7: In view of the increase in infection as well as to protect patients visiting G B Pant Hospital from unnecessary exposure to COVID-19, OPD services of G B Pant Hospital for minor ailments, are being shifted to the designated Urban Health Centres w.e.f  7th August, 2020.

In addition to the OPD services at your nearest UHCs, PHCs and CHCs, ailing persons may also take the benefit of tele-medicine services being provided by the specialists of GBPH, Department of Health Services. These consultations have been restricted to minor ailments and routine follow-up:

Port Blair, Aug. 6: The Andaman & Nicobar is in a bad shape when it comes to COVID-19 management. With almost 90 plus positive cases being recorded every day and the recovery rate falling, the situation seems to have gone out of control. As on date there are 16 deaths recorded officially due to the virus and as many as 700 plus active cases. The figure of active cases is expected to touch the 1000 mark in couple of days.
