Port Blair, Sept. 29: An Eye Camp was organized on 26th Sep 21 at 1000 hrs by Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association, headed by President Tatrakshika (A&N), Mrs. Savvitaa Rajaputhran and co-ordinated by Health coordinator Mrs. Sucharita Sitaram and health member Mrs. Saranya Keerthi for Coast Guard fraternity in Haddo complex. Dr. Rohindra Lall, an alumni of prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi and founder of Rohin’s Eye Hospital at Port Blair alongwith his good lady Mrs. Anuradha Lall conducted this eye camp. The camp witnessed whole hearted participation from Coast Guard fraternity including family members. 

Port Blair, Sept. 29: The State President, Mahila Morcha, BJP, A&N Islands, Smt. Sampa Banerjee and National Executive Member Smt. Sheela Singh participated in a two-day National Executive meeting of BJP Mahila Morcha organized in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

Port Blair, Sept. 29: ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, South Andaman conducted training program on “Use of gender friendly farm implements” for the practicing farmers and farm women of Collinpur Gram Panchayat recently.  A total of 25 farmers and farm women have participated in the program.

The training program was inaugurated by Dr. Y. Ramakrishna, Principal Scientist and Head, KVK, Port Blair. In the inaugural address, he exhorted the farming community to reap maximum benefit of the training program by learning the operation of the small farm implements suitable to the farming situations of these islands.

Port Blair, Sept. 29: Due to administrative reasons, the scheduled sailing programme of the vessel MV Kalighat for Campbell Bay via Nancowry has been revised. Now the vessel will sail for Campbell Bay via Car Nicobar and Nancowry on 30.09.2021 at 1500 Hrs instead of 1000 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail back to Port Blair on 02.10.2021 at 0900 Hrs from Campbell Bay via Nancowry. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 1230 Hrs. onwards at Haddo Wharf on 30.09.2021.

Port Blair, Sept. 29: A total of 4,40,904 doses of vaccines have been administered so far in A&N Islands out of the target beneficiaries of 2, 81, 603 (approx.). A total of 1,70,499 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date. A total of 1411 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands.
