Port Blair, March 7: The Centre of Indian Trade Unions, Andaman & Nicobar State Committee will be observing International Women’s Day today.  The main programme will be organized at the Hotel ACC Hall, Mohanpura, Port Blair at 4.00 p.m. on 8th March 2022. CITU has decided to observe this year’s International Women’s Day as “Working Women’s Action Day” in continuity of the working women’s countrywide ongoing agitations.

Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has deeply mourned the sad demise of Shri Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal (Age 74 years), Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) National Chairman and a spiritual leader who passed away at Ernakulam, Kerala on 6th March 2022. He prayed to the Almighty to give eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, I extend my greetings to all women folk of these Islands. It is a day to celebrate the spirit of women, who have played significant roles in shaping their families, communities, society and countries.

Port Blair, March 7: The All India Chess Federation (AICF) under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India will be organizing the 34th National Under-12 (Boys & Girls) Chess Championship-2022 from 9th April to 14th April 2022 at Mandya, Karnataka .
