Port Blair, May 3: ‘World Homoeopathy Day’ is celebrated on 10th April, each year across the globe. This year, the day commemorated the 269th birth anniversary of the founder of Homoeopathy, Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, a German Physician. As part of the observance, various activities/events like medical camps, awareness talks, TV/Radio shows etc. were conducted by Homoeopathy Units across the UT under the Health Department.

Port Blair, May 3: Summer Yoga Camp is being organized by AYUSH wing of DHS to enhance healthy lifestyle and to promote physical & mental well-being among the general public including children (age group of 6-12 years) of the Islands from May 6 to 31, 2024. All interested participants have been requested to join the classes in the respective location as mentioned below.

Port Blair, May 3: The cargo vessel MV Chuglam will sail for Car Nicobar via Little Andaman on May 7, 2024 at 1600 hrs from Haddo/Chatham Jetty and will sail back to Port Blair immediately after discharging/loading of Cargo at respective ports. Booking of cargo will commence from May 4 onwards between 0900 hrs & 1200 hrs at Commercial Wing, DSS.

Port Blair, May 3: Under National Family Welfare Programme, family planning sterilization service will be organized by Directorate of Health Services in association with Union Territory Health Mission at PHC Swaraj Dweep from May 6 to 9, 2024. The sterilization team will be headed by Dr. M.K Saha, Professor (O&G), ANIIMS, Dr. Narayanan Rajaram, Grade-I Anaesthetist (HoD), GBPH, Port Blair and other supporting staff.

Port Blair, May 2: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Minister of Law and Justice (IC), Government of India to allocate Seats in Premier Government Law Colleges for Students of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Minister of Law and Justice (IC), Government of India the Member of Parliament said that he is deeply concerned about the lack of postgraduate opportunities in law in our Islands. While Andaman Law College has been instrumental in providing undergraduate legal education, there is a notable absence of postgraduate programs, specifically a Master of Laws (LLM) course.
