Port Blair, May 10: In pursuance to regulation 18(2) of the A&N Island (Municipal) Regulation,1994 and the guidelines framed thereunder for ‘holding of election to Sub-committees by means of single transferable vote’ a notice of election to the Sub-Committees was issued on 07.05.2024. As per the schedule, nominations were received on 09.05.2024 within the stipulated time for the five Sub-Committees of Port Blair Municipal Council.

The Directorate of Health Services is regularly striving to provide Laparoscopic sterilization services in different part of A&N Islands. In line with this, a Fixed Day Family Planning Laparoscopic Sterilization Service was provided by the Directorate of Health Services in association with Union Territory Health Mission at Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Swaraj Dweep from May 6 to 9, 2024.

Today, marked the successful third day of this crucial initiative led by the diligent Revenue Officials. Under the guidance and supervision of Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, the encroachment eviction drive has gained significant momentum since its commencement. The objective of this drive is to address the issue of illegal encroachments on Govt. lands and restore them for the benefit of the entire community.

Port Blair, May 10: In a concerted effort to address concerns over nutritional adequacy of meals served to patients at GB Pant Hospital, the Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress President Shri. Rangalal Halder has submitted a formal request to the Secretary (Health) of the A & N Administration.

Highlighting the issue of limited variety and nutritional balance in patient meals, Halder underscored the critical importance of providing a well-rounded diet to support patient healing and well-being at GB Pant Hospital, particularly concerning the omission of vegetable items and the exclusive provision of only one item during afternoon hours.

Port Blair, May 10: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the Internship Scheme 2024 having 24 seats in various areas. The duration of internship shall be of two months, extendable up to three months, depending on the performance of the candidate, requirement of the Ministry and the time the intern is willing to spend with the Ministry. The internship will start from 3rd June, 2024. The online site is open since May 6, 2024 and the last date for applying is May 21, 2024.
