Port Blair, Feb 13: The Bharat Scouts & Guides Wing of Wimberlygunj Educational Zone conducted three days Beginners Course for Cub Masters, Scout Masters, Flock Leaders & Guide Captains from Feb.7 to 9, 2023 at Govt. Middle School, Kanyapuram. Altogether, 56 Teachers attended this course. Shri Gyan Sheel Dubey, District Chief Commissioner, BS&G/DEO, Wimberlygunj was the chief guest while Shri V Ranjit Kumar, AD (Sports) of Wimberlygunj Educational Zone was the guest of honour. All the syllabus of Scouts & Guides were discussed during these three days course.

A Courageous & Adventurous Trekking of Highest Peak of A&N Islands - on Promise Day

Port Blair, Feb 12: A courageous trek of 2401 feet to the highest peak of A&N Islands Saddle Peak with a promise of "Being Together" on "Promise Day" 11th Feb 2023 was organised by N&M Andaman District Police under the leadership of Ms Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, especially for women from all walks of life with a message of self-reliance, self-respect & to showcase women empowerment.

Urges GoI to fill up all vacant posts of Administration with Candidates from A&N Islands

Port Blair, Feb 12: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands has raised a strong voice in support of the Daily Rated and Casual Workers of the Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC).

In his speech in Lok Sabha on Friday, the Member of Parliament highlighted the dire financial conditions and poor working conditions of the 902 Daily Rated and Casual Workers of Port Blair Municipal Council, who have been employed by the PBMC for the past 10 to 15 years.

Campbell Bay, Dec. 12: The Directorate of Disaster Management, A&N Administration conducted Capacity Building Programmes – Swasthya Doot on disaster preparedness in Great Nicobar Sub-Division and trained around 8000 persons including children, in association with A&N Police, Fire Services, Health Department, Indian Coast Guard and A&N Command. The Disaster Management Trainings were imparted by conducting one-day training workshops/ programmes wherein the basics of disaster management search & rescue and medical first response were covered. The community of entire Great Nicobar is the first Sub-Division in India where each resident is trained in Disaster Management and they are fully prepared to respond any eventuality in future. This programme was conducted under the leadership of the Director, Directorate of Disaster Management, Dr. Nitin Shakya.
