Port Blair, Jan 18: The Health Department of the UT Administration is distributing prophylactic medicines through the AYUSH Units across the Islands to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus by enhancing immunity. The ‘AYUSH Wing’ functioning at Junglighat under the Department of Health Services is instrumental in distributing the immunity building Ayurvedic and Homeo Medicines. As part of this, the staff of AYUSH today distributed Ayurvedic medicines viz. Ayush Kadha, Tab Samshamani Vati / Giloy Ghanvati, Chavanprash etc. at various Govt. offices in the city.

Port Blair, Jan 18: The Port Blair Municipal Council invited applications from residents of Port Blair City for availing benefit under Affordable Housing in Partnership component of PMAY (U) during the year 2017 and a total of 555 beneficiaries were identified against the scheme.

Port Blair, Jan 18: A pan-India campaign under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ has been rolled out by different Central Ministries. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has assigned the week 3rd to 9th Jan, 2022 as ‘Iconic Week’ as a part of the nationwide celebration. The State Health Agency has observed this Iconic Week from 3rd to 9th Jan, 2022 in this UT by disseminating information about Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in different schools of the Islands.

Port Blair, Jan 18: Under the flagship programme ‘Digital India’ of GoI, the Directorate of Tribal Welfare, A&N Administration has successfully eased the process of paying the Pre Matric and Post Matric scholarships digitally to ST students offered by the GoI. Through digital mode, an amount of Rs. 8,49,250/- has been paid to 282 ST students under Pre Matric and Rs. 11,05,100/- to 309 ST students under Post Matric Scholarship for the academic year 2020-21. The complete process of disbursement of scholarship has been done online starting from registration in National Scholarship Portal (NSP) to disbursement of payment directly to the bank account of beneficiary through Public Financial Management System (PFMS).  

Port Blair, Jan 18: A virtual conference on PM-Gati Shakti for the South Zone was held today to deliberate on its action plans and projects. The Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the conference. Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain and Senior Officers of A&N Administration participated in the conference. The States and UTs which participated in the event were Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
