Port Blair, April 3: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 215 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 17 flights with 2517passengers arrived, out of which, 2204 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 229 passengers and the reports are awaited. 

Port Blair, April 1: The National Students Union of India's State General Secretary, Mr. Saurav Nair has urged the Ministry of Education Minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan to immediately stop University Grant Commission (UGC) from invalidating the degrees of Annamalai University Students after learning that the UGC has termed the Open & Distance learning (ODL) degrees awarded by the Annamalai University as "invalid".

Port Blair, April 1: In continuation of the zero tolerance policy against any kind of crime, PS Aberdeen staff have cracked the Aberdeen Bazaar Hotel burglary case and recovered 2 Nos. I-Phones worth Rs. 1.17 Lakhs and Rs. 20,700/- cash.

On 21/03/2022, a case vide FIR No. 67/22 U/s 457/380 IPC was registered at PS Aberdeen and investigation was entrusted to SI Regan Isaac of PS Aberdeen. The case was initially a blind case of theft of Rs. 2 Lakhs of cash from the Hotel Beach Castle, Aberdeen Bazaar. However, working professionally, the team collected technical evidences in the form of CCTV footages, CDRs and identified the accused person. Based on the investigation, total 06 persons have been arrested for their involvement in the crime. The team of PS Aberdeen lead by SI Regan Isaac (Investigating Officer), HC/Sunil Singh Yadav, PC/S.N Rao, PC/Sandeep Lakra, PC/Sonu Yadav, PC/Ashish Kumar and PC/Shiv Kumar under the supervision of Insp. R.K Mazumder, I/c PS Aberdeen cracked the case and recovered 2 Nos. I-Phones worth Rs. 1.17 Lakhs and Rs. 20,700/- cash. The details of the accused persons are:

Port Blair, April 1: The Secretary, PBMC along with the Superintending Engineer & other officials of PBMC today visited the Junglighat Burning Ghat & Khaitan Kalyan Mandapam during the field visit. Having inspected the Burning Ghat, the Secretary issued directions to clean & remediate the water body inside the Burning Ghat, which is being widely used for rituals. He also instructed to provide hassle free entry & exit gate in order to have free traffic movement of the visitors.
