Port Blair, Sept. 22: The Andaman & Nicobar Police has done on-boarding of almost all its police personnel on the Integrated Government Online Training (iGOT) Karmayogi Bharat Portal, an initiative of DoPT, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.

Andaman and Nicobar Police is committed to leveraging modern technology and innovative solutions to enhance the capabilities of its personnel, for better service delivery. This initiative is a testament to its commitment to empower dedicated officers and personnel with the latest skills and knowledge, required for Citizen Centric Policing law enforcement in the present and also to make it future ready. The A&N Police believe that investing in the capacity building of its officers and personnel is fundamental to maintaining a safe and secure environment in the Islands.

Port Blair, Sept. 22: The 4th Edition of ‘Tour of Andaman’ (ToA) showcasing Andaman & Nicobar Islands as Premier Cycling Destinations is all set to commence from today 23rd Sept. 2023. The 4th edition aims of promoting eco-friendly tourism in the breathtaking Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

This annual cycling event, which commenced in 2019 to promote Andaman & Nicobar Island as Cycling Destinations and to attract cyclist from all around the world in association with the A&N Islands Tourism Department. The event is organized by Team Parikrama in association with Hoteliers Association of A & N Islands and the A & N Islands Tourism Department. The tour covers a distance of 300+Kms stretching through all the Islands of Andaman’s from Port Blair in the South Andaman, Mayabunder in the Middle Andaman and Diglipur in North Andaman.

Port Blair, Sept. 22: As part of the celebration of World Tourism Day-2023 on Sept. 27 with the theme ‘Tourism and Green Investment’, the Tourism Department, A&N Administration in association with tourism stakeholders, line departments and India Tourism is organizing various events. The celebration kick started this morning with the three days World Tourism Day Knockout Beach Volleyball Tournament, which got underway at the picturesque Corbyn’s Cove Beach.

Mayabunder, Sept. 22: Outraged with the irregular power supply for long hours, which has been continuing since almost a year, the residents of Karmatang IX and X of Mayabunder today gathered at the Site Office of the Electricity Department, protesting against the ignorant behaviour of the department.

Around 40 villagers had gathered in front of the Electricity Site Office today at 9.00 am. Upon reaching, the person leading the villagers called Shri Abdul Siddique, Ex-Pramukh, Mayabunder to raise the issue before the concerned authorities. The villagers complained that the problem of low voltage and regular power cuts for long hours has made their lives miserable. The villagers also complained that in spite of long hours of power cut, when the villagers contacted the Site Office, their calls are not attended or given some reason to avoid them.

Port Blair, Sept. 22: On 20 & 21 Sep 23, Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters -14, conducted a Maritime Search and Rescue Workshop for all stakeholders present in the A&N Region. The workshop was inaugurated by Deputy Inspector General PB Mandal, TM, Commander Coast District No. 14. The event witnessed participation of reps from multiple Maritime Search and Rescue (M-SAR) stakeholder organisations.
