Port Blair, April 29: The District Administration in its continuous efforts to contain the encroachments over Government lands, the revenue officials of Port Blair Tehsil under South Andaman District carried out extensive eviction drives at various places during the last few days against such encroachments.

Port Blair, April 29: The Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) organized Orientation and Capacity Building programme on Prevention and Control of HIV & AIDS for the youth of ‘Red Ribbon Club’ (RRC) of Pondicherry University, Department of Ocean Studies and Marine Biology, Port Blair on 26th April 2024 in which more than 50 youth were present.

The programme was organized under the leadership of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, A&N AIDS Control Society.

Port Blair, April 29: The passengers have been informed that due to administrative reasons, the scheduled departure timing of the vessel Nalanda from Diglipur to Port Blair via Mayabunder on 01.05.2024 at 1030 hrs has been postponed. Now, the vessel will sail for Port Blair on the same day i.e. on 01.05.2024 at 1530 hrs instead of 1030 hrs from Diglipur. Similarly, the vessel will sail from Mayabunder to Port Blair at 2100 hrs instead of 1400 hrs.

Port Blair, April 29: The Housing and Estate Section, A & N Administration, Secretariat had invited fresh online applications for allotment of Government Accommodation under General Pool vide Admn.’s Circular No.1-167/2021/H&E/Vol-IV dated 29/03/2023 and based on the seniority list, the vacant Govt. accommodations have been allotted through the AAGA Portal.

Port Blair, April 28: The Andaman Nicobar Chemist & Druggist Association (ANCDA) have expressed deep concern over the Central Government's proposal to permit the sale of Over-The-Counter (OTC) drugs without a license in India.

ANCDA President, Vivek Kumar Misra, and General Secretary, PK Anish emphasized that such a move would contravene existing drug laws, pharmacy regulations, and pertinent legal frameworks, including directives from the Honorable Supreme Court.
