Islanders Requested to Download to Keep Themselves Updated

Port Blair, Dec. 7: Andaman & Nicobar Islands are prone to Geological and Hydro-meteorological disasters. These Islands also falls in cyclogeneses zone and significant number of cyclones gets generated every year in the Andaman Sea. Heavy rainfalls due to monsoon leads to localized flooding also occurs frequently in low lying areas. To provide localised information about such Natural Phenomena various mobile applications have been developed.

Port Blair, Dec. 7: The Island is presently experiencing extreme weather conditions and as such, operation of shipping service under such unstable state of weather becomes very difficult. The Directorate of Shipping Services considering the safety of passengers may cancel or suspend its services across foreshore and Inter-Island sectors at short notice.

Port Blair, Dec. 7: To celebrate the Utsav of Examination, the sixth edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023’, the unique interactive programme of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi with students, teachers and parents will be held at Talkatora Stadium in January 2023. This event is being organized successfully for the sixth consecutive year by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education.

DS Godara (Retd) called on Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency for Flag Pinning Ceremony today at Raj Niwas. A Cheque of Rs. 15,000/- as A&N Administration’s contribution was handed over.

It is brought to the notice of electricity consumers, general public and government departments that power supply will remain suspended at following area on 08.12.2022 (Thursday) from 0700 hrs. to 0900 hrs. to carry out urgent breakdown maintenance work of Busbars and Isolators at 33/11 KV Garacharma Sub-Station.
