Kamorta, April 14: Pest monitoring and surveillance is a significant activity of DPPQS, Faridabad, Union MoA&FW. In the wake of incidence of Slug caterpillar infestation in coconut orchards of Nimbutala area and report of previous incidence in Katchal and Chowra Islands, a periodic pest survey was conducted by Dr. Shiva Kumar H.D., Assistant Plant Protection Officer, Central Integrated Pest Management Centre (CIPMC), Port Blair to identify pest and disease associated with Coconut based agro ecosystems of Kamorta, Katchal, Teressa, Chowra Islands in consultation with Sh. S.P. Prasad, Asst. Director (Soil), Zonal Agri Office, Nancowry Group of Islands.

Port Blair, April 14: The District Police of North & Middle Andaman have been conducting intensive jungle search and combing operations to crackdown manufacturing of illicit Liquor. Adding to the spree of crackdown on illicit liquor manufacturing in the district, on 12/04/2023 Police & Forest officials jointly conducted combing in Nimbudera 43 area under the jurisdiction of PS Billiground. The team recovered 03 Nos. drum containing 500 ltrs of fermented illicit liquor (lehan) and other batti materials within the jungle and destroyed the same in the spot.

Port Blair, April 13: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep which sailed from Chennai is expected to arrive at Port Blair on April 15, 2023 at 1600 hrs. She has on board a total of 164 passengers and 12 Containers containing 122 MT. On arrival, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.
