Port Blair, Feb 11: The 12-day Tourist Guide Training Programme scheduled to be organized by the Tourism Department in association with Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Bhubaneswar from 19th February, 2024 has been rescheduled due to administrative reasons. It will now be held from 26th February to 8th March 2024, including weekends.

Port Blair, Feb 11: All concerned have been informed that all tourist activities at North Bay and Viper Island will remain open from tomorrow (Feb.12) and will operate from the Aberdeen jetty.

Port Blair, Feb 9: On February 8, 2024, at 4:00 PM, the first "Vendors Meet" was convened in the Conference Hall of the Police Headquarters under the vision of Sh. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, Director General of Police, A&N Islands.

DIGP (HQ) Shri Ajay Krishan Sharma, IPS, chaired the meeting, which saw enthusiastic participation from 32 local vendors and police officials from various districts and units. He addressed the attendees, urging local vendors to actively engage in the procurement procedures on the GeM Portal.

Port Blair, Feb 9: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded for appointment of a Doctor at Long Island PHC.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that the residents of Long Island are deeply concerned about the recent departure of the doctor stationed at Long Island's Primary Health Center (PHC) on January 26, 2024.

Port Blair, Feb 9: The Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, GoI, Shri Som Prakash, IAS (Retd.) will be arriving on a three-day visit to A&N Islands on Feb. 11, 2024. Soon after arrival, the Minister will visit National Memorial Cellular Jail.

On Feb.12, the Minister will attend the ‘Rozgar Mela’ at Netaji Stadium. Thereafter, the Minister will hold a review meeting of Logistic Policy of Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the Conference Hall of Secretariat.
