Port Blair, May 8: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to order at least four vessels of 300 pax capacity and two vessels of at least 500 pax capacity for Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament mentioned that the shipping services are the lifeline of our Islands but among the ships available at present, for far flung Islands, only two ships, namely MV Sindhu and MV Nalanda are new and providing desirable services to the people.

Port Blair, May 8: Under the Mission Shakti Scheme of GoI, the UT Administration is implementing the One Stop Centre Scheme, which provides integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence during distress both in private and public spaces. The One Stop Centres are functioning under one roof to facilitate immediate, emergency, non-emergency services access to a range of services including Medical, Legal, minimum 5 days temporary shelter, Police assistance, Psychological and Counseling support to fight any forms of violence against women.

Shri Prashish Kumar, Senior Athlete Coach flagged off the event wherein Dr. Sarabjit Kaur Jagpal, Principal Khalsa Public School was the Chief Guest in the closing ceremony. Shri Tapash Mondal (PET) Khalsa Public School was the Guest of Honor for this event wherein Shri K P Mammu (International athlete), Miss Bhavani (National Para Athlete), Shri R. Vineeth (India's only solo alpine style Mountaineer) were the event ambassadors.

The final match was played between Team Eisaba and Team #Nahi Sakega with full zeal and enthusiasm in which Team Eisaba emerged victorious after a thrilling encounter. The winner and runner-up team were awarded with trophies and mementos. Prizes were also given to other categories like man of the match, best bowler, best commentator etc.
