Port Blair, Jan 5: ICAR-KVK, CIARI, Port Blair organized training on organic vegetable production on 04.01.2023 at Chouldhari Panchayat. Dr. Y Ramakrishna, Principal Scientist and Head briefed on the negative impacts of indiscriminate use of agro-chemicals in farming systems, which create bad effects on soil diversity, depletion of soil organic matter, physiological disturbance, poor water use efficiency, and contamination of soil, food and water bodies in our fragile ecosystem.

Workshop-cum-Seminar Organised to Educate, Enhance and Empower the PVTG
Port Blair, Jan. 4: As per the directions of the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, a Workshop-cum-Seminar with the theme to ‘Educate, Enhance & Empower’ was organized today by Andaman Admin Janjati Vikas Samiti (AAJVS) & Directorate of Tribal Welfare in association with the Departments of Industries, Education, Fisheries, Agriculture & Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services of A&N Administration in the conference hall of Anthropological Survey of India (AnSI), Port Blair. The focus was to orient Andamanese PVTGs towards skill building.
