Port Blair, May 16: A delegation of Tourist Cab Drivers, who were operating their vehicles as Prepaid Taxis from Veer Savarkar International Airport today called on the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma with their grievances.

They said that a few weeks back the operation of Prepaid Taxis from Veer Savarkar International Airport was stopped, which is not only causing loss to nearly 450 odd Tourist vehicle operators but also causing inconvenience to Tourists. Prepaid Taxis operated from Port Blair airport were considered as affordable and reliable by tourists.

Port Blair, May 16: Safety and security of the users is an integral part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India.  Towards fulfilling this vision, Sh. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Communications, Railways, Electronics & IT, launched the Sanchar Saathi portal today.

During the meeting, implementation of privatising Power sector in A&N Islands were discussed.

Port Blair, May 16: The Congress Campaign Committee Chairman, A&N Islands, Shri. TSG Bhakser on Tuesday wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri. Keshav Chandra, IAS informing him about the pathetic condition of living in 3 villages of Diglipur which he noticed during his recent visit to Diglipur.

In the letter, Mr. Bhasker mentioned that around 600 residents living in 3 villages of Diglipur i.e. Burmachad, Bandanallah II and Gopal Nagar II are lacking basic facilities of water, electricity and education as they are living in forest area.
