Port Blair, Nov. 2: The Department of Fisheries, A&N Administration is implementing a component ‘Motorization of Traditional Craft’ under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme – ‘Blue Revolution’ wherein subsidy is provided for purchase of outboard/inboard marine engine /fishing gear & propeller. The pattern of subsidy and eligibility criteria for the programme of the scheme are as under:-

Port Blair, Nov. 2: The logo for the 9th Andaman & Nicobar State Conference of CITU was released on 1st November, 2022 at a simple function held at Crusade House, Phoenix Bay, Port Blair by Shri R. Surendran Pillai, President, CITU A & N State Committee. The State Conference of the CITU is scheduled to be held at Port Blair on 26 – 27 November, 2022.  A video presentation about the logo was also made on the occasion. Shri P. Sathyapal, Chairman, Reception Committee presided over the function.    

Port Blair, Nov. 2: On 01/11/2022, a meeting under the chairmanship of Shri. Ajay Kr. Rai, DANIPS (Dy. SP Traffic) was conducted with the Auto Union leaders & members. At the outset, DySP Traffic directed them to abide by the traffic rules & to keep good conduct with the passengers. They were directed to refrain from drunken driving and they were also apprised about the aftermath of road accidents caused due to drunken driving on the victim & offender’s family. Their grievances were also heard, and remedies were provided. More than 20 representatives of various auto unions were present.

Port Blair, Nov. 2: The Department of Fisheries in association with Department of IP&T, A&N Administration proposes to organize ‘Seafood Festival’ on November 20 & 21, 2022 in connection with celebration of ‘World Fisheries Day -2022’ in A&N Islands. The festival will mainly focus on popularizing seafood culture of the Islands among the local population as well as tourists.
