Port Blair, May 17: To facilitate the Island-based commuters to Chennai, the booking of Andaman Bhawans in Chennai (KK Nagar and Anna Nagar) is proposed to be made online from May 20, 2023. Interested commuters may book the rooms through the online portal (Beta version) under the URL http://andssw1.and.nic.in/AndamanHouse by submitting their application form online and paying the booking amount at the Reception Counter of DIPT and confirming their booking in advance.

Port Blair, May 17: A firing practice will be carried out at Chinthe Long Range, Birchgunj on May 18 from 9.30 am to 5 pm. All concerned have been warned to keep themselves and their vehicle/livestock away from the firing range during the above mentioned date and time.

Port Blair, May 16: Due to delay in the onset of monsoon, the water level at Dhanikari Dam and other water sources situated at the South Andaman District has gone down considerably and is severely affecting the water supply in the area. Many complaints are being received from general public and public representatives regarding irregular and non-supply of water in residential areas leading to a threatening disaster situation. It is perceived that an emerging distressful situation will arise, if immediate response and action is not taken in view of the prevailing emergent water crisis.
