Bakultala, Nov. 25: ICAR- KVK, N&M Andaman organized a three days training program on “Integrated Farming System for Sustainable Agriculture” at Shyamkund village, Bakultala from 20th to 22nd November 2024.

The program was inaugurated by Shri Narayan Mondal Pradhan Bakultala Gram Panchayat, who encouraged farmers to adopt integrated farming systems to achieve economic and ecological benefits. He stressed the importance of working closely with agricultural experts and institutions to address challenges in farming and optimize resource utilization.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 24: The valedictory function of the three-day training workshop on Coastal and Marine Biodiversity of Island Ecosystem organized by Zoological Survey of India was held in the Auditorium of ZSI, here this evening. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS was the Chief Guest on the occasion while the Dr. S. Dinesh Kannan, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Department of Environment and Forests; Captain P. Mahajan, Station Flight Safety Officer (SFSO), INS Utkrosh, was the special Guests. The program was attended by students, teachers, members from Zilla Parishad, Officials from Department of Environment & Forests, AATO, Forensic Unit, BSI, and staff/officials of ZSI. The training course was conducted in both class room exercise and field practical training, there were eight different talks on the Coastal and Marine Biodiversity of Island ecosystem delivered by expert in the fields.  The field training provided in the intertidal areas of Burmanella, and Chidiyatappu Biological Park.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 24: The Andaman Nicobar Chess Association conducted the A & N State selection trial for U13 and U9 National Chess Championship 2024 today at Chinmaya Mission, Police Line, Sri Vijaya Puram.

The Tournament was inaugurated by Acharya Suddhananda Saraswati, Chinmaya Mission, who made ceremonial first move on the top board against V K Nuhaan Siddique, the youngest chess player of the event in presence of shri Yamin from News Andaman 24 x 7 who graced occasion as a guest of guest of honour.

Billiground Nov. 24: On 18/11/2024, a report of a missing minor girl was received at PS Billiground. The girl had been missing since the night of 17/11/2024. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, SHO PS Billiground, Sub-Inspector M.V. Shiju Kumar, constituted a team comprising ASI Diana, ASI (IRBn.) Rajini Babu, HCs Amrita Bawali, Pradeep Kr. Kindo, PCs Mohd. Mustafa, Grick Charles and Abhijeet Mondal.

Campbell Bay, Nov. 24: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services organized Veterinary Health Camp at Afra Bay, Great Nicobar recently. This initiative was a significant step towards improving the livelihood and nutritional security of the tribal community residing in this isolated village.
