Port Blair, Nov. 10: Shri Vishal Jolly, National Executive Committee member, BJP, today met the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration and highlighted the following issues:-

Ladies Hostel for Students of JNRM: Jolly placed that there is a serious requirement of a new ladies hostel for the students of JNRM as the capacity of the present ladies hostel is incapable to accommodate the total requirement of JNRM.

Port Blair, Nov. 10: The Government of India issued an office Memorandum directing all establishment under Govt. of India to release Bonus to all employees including casual and other workers with a minimum of Rs. 1200/-. It is understood that there is some hesitation in the Govt. department to extend the benefit to the Daily rated workers working in various department specially in APWD. The Govt. of India circular is very clear in this matter which says that, “The casual labours who have worked in offices following a 06-day per week for at least 240 days for each year for the 03 years or more will be eligible for the this Non-PLB (Adhoc Bonus) payment”.

Port Blair, Nov. 10: The Directorate of Industries, Andaman & Nicobar Administration is organizing ‘Startup Mela’ at a pavilion especially erected in the Parking Lot of the ANE-Sagarika of the Department at Middle Point, Port Blair from 9th November, 2022. Considering the overwhelming response from the visitors, the Mela has been extended for another two days i.e. upto Nov. 12 and will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm.

Port Blair, Nov. 10: The Department Related Parliamentary Committee on Industry headed by its Chairman, Shri Tiruchi Siva (Rajya Sabha) arrived on a two-day visit to A&N Islands today. The other Members of the Committee include Shri Birendra Prasad Baishya (Rajya Sabha), Shrimati Sulata Deo (Rajya Sabha), Shri Sandosh Kumar P (Rajya Sabha), Ravindra Kushwaha (Lok Sabha), Bidyut Baran Mahato (Lok Sabha) and Sunil Dattatray Tatkare (Lok Sabha). On arrival, the Committee members were received by the Officers of the A&N Administration at the Airport.

Port Blair, Nov. 10: No COVID positive case has been detected today in A&N Islands. Today, 15 flights with 2427 passengers arrived, out of which, 2225 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 58 passengers and the reports are awaited.
