Port Blair, Sept. 20: The District Administration South Andaman has taken all possible efforts to identify the encroachments happening during COVID-19 Pandemic. Strict enforcement drive is on to evict the same. As a result, an area of 94950 sqmts of Government Land has been restored into Govt. Khata in the last one month.

Port Blair, Sept. 20: Indian Red Cross Society, A & N Branch conducted a COVID-19 awareness programme and distributed 350 washable cotton cloth masks to corona warriors including Anganwadi workers and helpers and ASHA workers attached to the HWCs/UHCs, COVID Care Centres and Fishermen group of Dignabad area of Port Blair through MO In-Charges of HWC-Shadhipur, HWC-Dairy Farm, HWC-Junglighat, HWC-Delanipur and HWC-Haddo.

Port Blair, Sept. 18: On 16/09/2020, a missing complaint of a minor boy from Garacharma area was received at PS Pahargaon, who left home on 14/09/2020 after being scolded by his mother over a petty issue. Upon receipt of the complaint, three teams were immediately constituted for search of the minor boy.

Kuldeep Requests ANI Administration to Take Up Urgent Repairs and Upgrade Existing Cold Storage

Port Blair, Sept. 18: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeeep Rai Sharma has requested the Secretary (Fisheries), A&N Administration to get urgent repair of existing cold storage of 20 ton capacity at Hut Bay and also to initiate process for enhancing cold storage capacity of 50 ton at Hut Bay for the welfare of the fishermen community of Little Andaman.

PBGKR Suggests Measures to Overcome Shortage of Teachers

Port Blair, Sept. 18: The current allocation of teachers across government schools in A&N Islands for primary, secondary and higher secondary are at an all-time low. Data suggests that there is huge shortage of teachers in almost every school be it be primary, secondary or higher secondary. At present the islands have a shortfall of around 900 teachers in various trades.
