Port Blair, July8: The Andaman & Nicobar Police has proudly announced that the Police Mess at the Police Training School, the India Reserve Battalion, Armed Police Unit and the Gazetted Officers Mess have been awarded the distinguished "Eat Right Campus" certification.

The "eat right campus" initiative, spearheaded by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), aims to promote safe, healthy, and sustainable food in campuses across the country through comprehensive assessment of the food quality, hygiene practices, and sustainability measures being adopted.

Port Blair, July 8: Port Blair city is among one of the clean cities in India. The Administration is committed to make it the cleanest city in the country. Accordingly, the Administration is working on the vision of zero tolerance to littering. The Chief Secretary has constituted 12 teams under Senior Officers to inspect existing Solid Waste Management facilities i.e. DRCs, Landfill site and suggest various measures to improve their efficiency. The teams are also directed to inspect door to door collection mechanism and to identify vulnerable points where the garbage is dumped by the general public.

The Tourism Department in collaboration with all line Departments and all leading Tourism stakeholders of A&N Islands will be organizing ‘Monsoon Tourism Festival-2024’ with the tagline #rhythmoftherains. The Festival will begin with a Road Show on 12th July, 2024 and the celebrations will continue on 13th & 14th July, 2024 at Corbyn’s Cove from 3 pm to 9 pm. The Monsoon Tourism Festival is organized every year in mid-July with the aim of promoting ‘Andaman’ as 365 days tourist destination for all.
